AnQ Systems Establishes Presence in Asia

R&D Center and Business Office to Provide Local Development and Support

Chutung, Hsinchu, Taiwan, 6 June 2006 – AnQ Systems today announced that it has added a regional R&D center and business office in Taiwan. The company entered the mobile business communications market to provide class-leading solutions that extend the range and functionality of wireless LAN (WLAN) and mobile/cellular networks for mobile workers. Headquartered in San Jose, California, AnQ Systems is a privately-held company that has been working with ITRI International, the largest non-profit R&D research organization in Taiwan.

Accelerating Research and Development

Voice/Data over Wireless Enterprise and Mobile (GMS) Networks

According to market analyst IDC’s latest research on the top 10 trends in the Asia/Pacific telecommunications industry, the growth of this US$170 billion market will come from VoIP, broadband, 3G services and managed services. “Enterprise fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) and mobility will become an additional application on top of an enterprise’s IP telephony platform moving forward,” reported IDC.  

AnQ Systems’ patent-pending technologies are specifically directed at this market by providing simplified access and roaming across multiple networks. The Company expects to be the first to deliver a seamless “one network” across multiple locations.

Improving Productivity through Mobility

“Just as the mobile phone has become ubiquitous through Asia and the rest of the world, we expect dual-mode mobile/VoWLAN (voice over WLAN) phones to become increasingly popular,” predicted Jeff Lin, Chairman and CEO of AnQ Systems. “This next generation of phones is a very cost-efficient complement to traditional GSM-only mobile phones.”

As organizations see mobility as an enabling technology for reducing operating expenses and improving collaboration and communications between employees, business partners and customers. Infonetics Research projected deployment of voice over WLAN in enterprises tripling over the next two years, from 10% to 31% in 2007.

Focus on Taiwan and Asia-Pacific

The Asia/Pacific business environment has been very challenging for traditional vendors because of cultural diversity and the large percentage of small businesses (89% have more than 4 employees, but less than 100 employees) in the region.
